Highway towers.
Andy is busy working on the new songs for this months live show and they will be 'Super State Empire', 'Medulla Oblongata' & 'Intoxicated land'. Also waiting to see howw walk through the night turns out.

Am particularly look forward to playing Super State Empire as it means taking a break from singing and doing some live keyboard work. This week I have to record 20 short voice samples (either from film or spoken) and they are going to be loaded into the keyboard and triggered at various points during this song. If you have any ideas then feel free to come forward with suggestions - something like 'the world is not enough but of course vodka is' - haha!

Finally I keep getting sweet emails from the lost highway fans and I thought this one was particularly good -

"I love your Music!!You will be played on Liferadiostation at Samday.Very nice Artists,Big,screaming.....(you,i mean..)
In my Music runs the same blood. So,if you are in Switzeland, you invited in my House in Mountains, for Chessefondue and old scottisch Whiskey.. All the best
Ralph"

Trek samples are always a good idea à la Velvet Acid Christ-'Futile (Resisted)', but then I would say that. ;-)

Or samples from things like old war films and perhaps even from those 'Protect and Survive' public information films that warned people what to do in the event of nuclear war. Eerie stuff, but it would sound great! :-)

I like the sound of public information films warning & even war films, thanks.

I'm wanting to stay away from the really dark stuff to avoid cliche although Andy fancies the idea of really hardcore messed up sentances but I think it wouldn't fit with the context of the song which is pretty uplifting :)

Think I'll trawl through my Twin peaks & lynch film videos for some nice lines, maybe split it 50/50 between film samples and spoken word :)

Black Books has some cracking samples but would it work if you had to play the DVD on your PC? Not good news on the DVD player by the way, the cleaning disc isn't going to work as you have to be able to play it in the first place! Never mind, we'll sort it!
