Officially More Clever.
That's me more clever again - finally been awarded:
MSc (Merit) Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies
Missed the distinction by 5% overall, but I can live with that (kind of like getting a 2:1 rather than a first), but it is by far and away the best I have done in any education in terms of final mark so I am more than happy with that (and considering I was working full time as well as studying full time, I can accept missing the top grade!)
Just back from emptying big tanks of shit, knackered out and need to get some other bits and bobs done... but struggling to make it off the sofa at the moment! Down the Lakes tomorrow - Thursday, back up here - find camping stuff Thursday night, repack the car and back down to the Lakes again on Friday! May get Nat to drive my car down so I can snooze ;-) |

:-) Yesterday was a pleasant day. After staying in bed until the postman didn't come, me, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) trsa and kurlz_98 went to the Kelvingrove Museum. We didn't go all round but we did spend about an hour there. Then went for something to eat and then to trsa's for a wee while, before heading back here, via KFC and a much appreciated lift from my dad!! I was totally knackered when we got home and couldn't even stay awake long enough to watch another episode of Coupling! (yup, genning up on Steven Moffat's work, haha.) I have very vague sleepy memories of Scott leaving for work this morning but I woke up properly JUST in the nick of time to quickly throw some clothes on and RUN along to the dentist's for my hygienist appointment!! Just made it! *phew* I'm borrowing £10 from my dad tonight so I can go into Glasgow and watch the Doctor Who finale on the big screen at Delmonica's (the gay bar I used to frequent). YAY! Cannae wait! :-) Then I'll stay the night at Scott's. More YAY! :-) For now, I'm going to see how much information I can soak up from all the MILLIONS (OK tens) of books I'm currently desperate to read!! Don't you wish that you could just TOUCH the book/PDF icon and have the information transfer to your brain? Instant knowledge!! I may have a survey break at some point. I may not. Working locally!
Yep, got a job on this morning, just soaking myself in "Java Lava" before thinking about leaving the house! Then back here to do some desktop research on the environmental impact of a system that I designed about 3 years ago and they now want to go ahead with over near Grangemouth... though the planners say they need all the permissions in 4 weeks otherwise the planning will be binned, which is interesting as it takes 4 months to get SEPA permissions! Figure that I will do this research, get the details to the developer and leave it to them to argue about/apply to SEPA!
Nowt else of any interest to tell - John and Sheena should be landing soon, and we still haven't sold the house (boo hiss). Couple of interesting places on the market in Cumbria though, although the one we did want sold. Still looking forward to relocating though and getting life under control a little more, doing more exercise, being more sociable and generally living a fuller and happier life!
Still - it will happen when it happens. |

Finally! Ok, I finally have a job interview. It's for an FX company in Torrance. No, it's not the dream job I have been trying to get but it's something for now that will help me pay the bills and the company looks interesting. Here is the website: http://www.wildfirefx.com. I'm still keeping my eyes open for a job a at school. I've applied for quite a few that haves deadline coming up before interviews are scheduled. Something is bound to come soon. If not then I'll go to a temp agency until I find a more permanent position. Now I just need to get an interview outfit. Eeep! I own no professional looking clothes. lol! cheered up Apologies for my emo-ness yesterday! I don't know WTF was up with me. Meh. Yous all shoulda kicked my arse! LOL. Anyway, when trsa got here in the evening, I cheered up considerably. :-) It was another lazy day today but I did eventually get my arse down to the centre to get my mum's birthday present. Scott's off to the cinema but me and Monster aren't going cos we are going to my parents' for dinner and to sing Happy Birthday!! (And also cos I have no money!) Today's film of choice is Prince Caspian as well, so I'll just have to try to take Monster to see it another time. If I ever have any money!! HA! I've been reading some stuff (in e-book form) by Mickhail Bakunin and thoroughly enjoying it. I usually find reading stuff by old dead guys, whilst very interesting, to be quite hard going but I'm finding Bakunin very easy and enjoyable to read. As well as finding myself nodding my head vigorously at a great deal of what he had to say. (Certainly not everything, mind you! I'm still an anarcho-communist! :p) I've also just finished reading The Science Of Doctor Who which, although it sounds a bit silly/geeky (not that that would be a bad thing! ;) ), is actually a fantastic book. sooo. it's been awhile. wil moved back to wisconsin with his parents. they came to visit pennsylvania last week, and on the day they came to see him they popped the idea of him leaving here and going back with them, and he said sure. so he left on sunday. weird. i wish him luck, though. he needs to get his life together and i hope this is how he can do it. kaden has a temperature of 103. and he puked on the couch awhile ago. this is turning out to be quite the fun day. i was supposed to go to work today but couldn't, so oh well. guess i'll be making that up tomorrow. i'm just glad i still have the option of going in when i want as long as i get all my hours in. i am massively depressed and feel like i'm losing my mind. this shit needs to stop. but i don't know how to fix what's wrong, or even exactly what's wrong at all. on august 18th, my mother is taking me, duhneil, darian, and kaden to the beach. she rented a house half a block from the ocean. i can't wait. it's in ocean city, maryland, which is a beach i have not been to, but hopefully there's more to do there than rehoboth. time to start saving up money. fry isn't too happy that he can't go, but really...i don't want him to go. things have not been going so well between us lately. this is partly due to his sister lying about me and him believing the lie....and partly just because i haven't felt the same in quite awhile. there's a lot of crap that goes into that that i just don't want to go into, so oh well. on with the show. i guess i need to go make supper, and darian is bitching about wanting on the computer....*can you believe it, a four-year-old bitching about wanting to be on the computer.* what is the world coming to? haha. buhbye for now. School holidays - Day 4. Arrrrgh, Shauna's doing my head in, Arrrrrrghh!! She has way too much energy and she's using it all up on talking random crap at me, thereby sapping what little energy I have. Also, she's got "Awful 90s Songs" on The Hits music channel, whilst playing something completely different on her (plugged in, distorted, turned up loud) guitar! ARRRRRGGGHHH!!! I wish we still had Kerrap Kerrang. Even MCR and Blink-182 beats this shite!! And I wish she would stop making more than one kind of noise at a time. More than one kind of noise at a time makes my brain melty! What do I need to do today? Just buy food (what little I can afford!) and pick up my prescription, really, I think. And, of course, like every bloody day that I have to go to Calderwood, it's raining!! GRRRRRR!! Oh yeah and I need to do my assignment that's due on Thursday. Funny how I magically forgot about that there, eh? I should also start to sort out stuff to sell/freecycle/take to charity shops. MUST DECLUTTER!!!! Actually, most will be freecycled, I think. Except for clothes, which will be taken to the clothing bank along the road. The only things I might try to sell are Shauna's old bike (it's in very good condition cos it was barely used) and the camping stove (never used). But if no interest, I'll freecycle them. Just want all unused stuff THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!! Not sure if Scott's going to make it over today, as he has lots to do. But good news yesterday - he got into college again next (academic) year. YAY!!! *does happy dance* I'd have bought him a celebratory pint or something but I'm skint as usual! Meh. Current Mood: stressedCurrent Music: Noooiiiiiisssseeeeee |

Weekend
Well, good weekend despite weather, I took Mam'zelle Amélie to the Dunfermline Gala on saturday morning and she loved it. The theme this year was cowboys and cowgirls, there were also stiltwalkers in various weird and wonderful costumes, bands and someone in a gorilla suit in the procession to Pittencrieff Park!
Rest of weekend was doing some much needed gardening.
On another note, does anyone know if you can upload pix (and how many) if you've only a basic free lj account?

The CBT is passed - I can now ride a 125cc bike on the road with L plates legally! Was loads of fun doing it... cannae wait for the big bike lessons to start now :-) Just 1 test now to get done and past!!! |

Artburst/Bedlam So, having looked forward all week to seeing the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, I made my way down to the Village last night and got there just in time for them starting. Hmm. But, sadly, this is East Kilbride and East Kilbride is full of arseholes. It was just jam-packed with drunken neds looking for fights. Some guy took an irrational dislike to me, and him and his wife/girlfriend were threatening me. So I thought "fuck this" and started making my way out of the crowd. Now, I can understand people getting pissed off at you if you were pushing your way IN to the crowd and standing IN FRONT of them etc but I was trying to move OUT. Bloody hell!!! NOBODY was willing to move to let me past and instead did their utmost to STOP me from getting out. I was called every name under the sun by loads of people and some guy threatened to punch me cos my bag bumped him when he refused to move to let me pass. As well as the nasty people and scary atmosphere, the sound quality was ABYSMAL. Honestly even if it was one of my all-time favourite bands playing I would have left for Bedlam. Not nice, not nice at all. I hate this town!!! I want to move back to Glasgow NOW!! Esp after being back in the Southside yesterday and remembering all the reasons I miss living there. Of course there are plenty of neds there too - probably worse ones than here - but the decent people to ned ratio is far more favourable than in this soulless shit hole of a town. I hate the place, and the people in it, more and more every day. :( I wished I'd just gone back to the Southside fest and saw the Clachies play. It would have been a far more pleasant evening and there would have been loads of people I know but haven't seen for AGES there. Anyway, I saw two of my brothers at the bar, joined them for a QUICK drink and then Colin and I headed to Bedlam which I'm pleased to say was a lot more enjoyable! adrian_meerkat came too and l00py_l0rna has the photographic (and video!) evidence! Heheheheh. For some odd reason, I embarrassingly vomited spectacularly outside the QM at the end. I wasn't even drunk or even feeling ill in the slightest - my stomach obviously just objected to what I was putting in it! I hate my stupid sensitive stomach sometimes!! Even drinking tea makes me throw up sometimes ... as does Tennent's pish lager, which would explain my barfiness last night cos that be what I was drinking. I'm not sure how bad the Guinness is in the QM but I might switch to that next time. It was close to 5.30am before we got a bus. :\ Scott came back here too and hardly got any sleep before having to head to work. I don't know how the hell he's going to survive the day! I hope he has lots of opportunity for caffeine!!! Current Mood: okay |

Aaaah... the quiet life.
Not done much today... probably needed to not do much today mind! Tomorrow is going to be eventful though as I have to be in Riverside for 9am ready for my CBT!!! I suspect tomorrow I will be a little sore, a little tired and wishing I wasn't having to head down the Lakes on Monday morning for a very full week.
Next weekend should be a bit of a recharge hopefully, following weekend may be camping in the Lakes... and hopefully drinking beer in a pub with my mates John and Sheena... I feel a date with The Black Bull in Coniston on the cards (a damn fine hostelry if ever I saw one).
Night night :-) Shall try and remember to report in tomorrow evening! |
